As a Database Analyst/Developer ( Software Programmer ), you will utilize your experience and strong analytical skills to effectively communicate, provide robust task management and support the team with your broad technical experience in a military setting. You will positively impact our U.S. Army customer while working in support of current operations at PEO Soldier, Fort Belvoir, VA.

 

Highlights of Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for obtaining, assessing, analyzing and presenting a wide variety of data from various sources throughout the organization.
  • Develop database applications using Microsoft C#.
  • Work towards database normalization.
  • Provide data and data summary analyses by gathering data from a variety of source databases using SQL.
  • Collect data via source data fields.
  • Prepare and maintain data dictionaries and entity relationship diagrams for databases.
  • Prepare standard reports as required.
  • Review and analyze data for trends.
  • Interpret and understand requestors’ needs and goals and apply the most appropriate methodology to produce a deliverable that conveys information clearly and effectively to non-technical leadership to facilitate decision making.
  • Validate, import and export data as required, and insure data integrity and consistency.
  • Utilize reporting tools to generate data formats, such as tables, graphs, briefing slides, and basic statistics.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using proper Army correspondence format, accepted formats for technical writing, or other formats as required.

 

Requirements:
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience in developing database applications using Microsoft C#. Familiarity with database normalization.
  • Thorough understanding of source data fields and how data is collected.
  • Proven experience querying data in T-SQL, writing reports where the data resides in databases including SQL Server, MS Access, and MS Excel files.
  • Ability to work independently and produce accurate results through attention to detail.
  • Education and Experience requirements:
    • High School AND 20yrs related experience OR
    • Associates field AND 16yrs related experience OR
    • Bachelor in non-directly related field AND 15yrs┬árelated experience OR
    • Bachelor in directly related field AND 10yrs related experience OR
    • Masters in non-directly related field AND 10yrs related experience OR
    • Masters in directly related field AND 7yrs related experience OR
    • Doctorate AND 5yrs related experience.
