As the Soldier Power Acquisition Support Specialist ( Acquisition Specialist ) supporting PEO Soldier at Ft. Belvoir, VA, you will have an opportunity to use your background in DoD 5000 Acquisition process to provide assistance and support for the development, implementation and management of Milestone C acquisition documentation for Soldier Power programs. You will work with a team to ensure new products are ready for JCIDS review and milestones.

 

Highlights of Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute plans and policy, determines requirements and needs, investigates and resolves problems, interfaces with other functions and outside personnel, assists in the preparation and execution of budgets and manages staff.
  • Work on complex projects which will require original thinking and new approaches.
  • Set priorities and ensures that the work products for the group conform to standards.
  • Provide support to processes and systems.
  • Research, design and determine solutions and prepares recommendations; evaluates performance, reliability and other relevant factors; integrates and coordinates several activities.
  • Coordinate and participate in the preparation of program documentation.
  • Support Soldier Power Integrated Product Teams from across all domains of Program Management,
  • Coordinate with the user representative to identify and prioritize Soldier Power requirements.
  • Identify existing and emerging industry stakeholders to support material solutions.
  • Track, monitor and status reporting of new and ongoing Soldier Power projects.
  • Coordinate with Army Test and Evaluation Command for safety releases.
  • Assist with the development of training support packages and materials.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000.02 acquisition directives.
  • Experience with DoD 5000 Acquisition processes including providing assistance and support for the development, implementation and management of Milestone C acquisition documentation.
  • Able to travel domestically and overseas in support of demonstrations, design reviews, speaking engagements (up to 20% if needed).
  • Demonstrated strong oral and communications skills.
  • Strong working knowledge on Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, Project Outlook, and Power Point.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Education and Experience requirements:
    • High School AND 14yrs experience OR
    • Associates field AND 12yrs experience OR
    • Bachelor in non-directly related field AND 10yrs experience OR
    • Bachelor in directly related field AND 5yrs experience OR
    • Masters in non-directly related field AND 5yrs experience OR
    • Masters in directly related field AND some related course/lab work experience.
